Background

Aaron Swan & Associates was founded in 1975 and is located in Pierre , South Dakota .  The firm was formed to give engineering consulting assistance to construction projects throughout the mid-western states.  With the founder’s years of personal experience and the expert staff he assembled, the firm has been able to give our clients the quality service they have needed.  As the needs of our clients have expanded, Aaron Swan & Associates have expanded our capabilities to keep pace.  We continue to broaden our skills to meet your needs now and into the future.

Capabilities 

Aaron Swan & Associates is a regional consulting firm serving the upper mid-western states.  Our goal is to provide quality service for all stages of our client’s projects.  We can take a project from the initial design phases through construction administration and project closeout.  We are also able to provide construction services including surveying and material testing.

Every project we work on is a series of problems to be resolved.  Many design problems have a multitude of solutions.  At Aaron Swan & Associates we are committed to finding the best solution for our clients  

Experience 

Aaron Swan, P.E.

Aaron Swan P.E. with more than 40 years of experience, was first licensed as a Professional Engineer in South Dakota in 1968.  He has been registered to practice as a Professional Engineer in North Dakota, Montana, and Utah.

Edmund Jacobsen, P.E., RLS

Edmund Jacobsen, P.E., RLS with more than 35 years experience, was first licensed as a Professional Engineer in South Dakota in 1975.  Ed is a Registered Land Surveyor in both South Dakota and North Dakota.

Ron Lutz, P.E.

Ron Lutz, P.E. with more than 30 years experience, was first licensed as a Professional Engineer in South Dakota in 1975.  He has been licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer in Arizona , New Mexico , Idaho , Wyoming and Nebraska .

Personnel at Aaron Swan & Associates have a broad range of experience.  Among our staff, you will find many years of experience in each of the individual disciplines.  Our staff has the experience necessary to insure that our clients get the best quality service.  Our staff controls and checks the quality and accuracy of the work at each step along the way. Aaron Swan and Associates is capable of taking on the largest of projects because of their association with more than 100 specialized consulting firms.

Scope

Aaron Swan and Associates has organized and conducted numerous meetings for presentations to sponsoring agencies, public hearings and owner’s representatives. These presentations include power point, white board and flip chart presentations for technical data and / or concepts.  

The firm has prepared forms for inventory and questionnaire surveys and presented the collected data in report and presentation formats.  This data includes environmental inspections, land owner record research and land owner notification.

Aaron Swan and Associates personnel travel to various locations to make presentations such as:  the BIA in Albuquerque, NM, the IHS in Washington, DC and the IHS OES in Seattle, WA.

Computer Technology

Aaron Swan & Associates utilizes the latest computer technology in preparation of all contract documents and reports.  Our in-house network is linked to the Internet as well as our laser printers and full size drawing plotters.  The standard drawings and mapping done by the firm are created on the computer with the aid of AutoCAD, AutoDESK, BOSS, HECRAS and numerous programs. This gives us the flexibility to make changes rapidly to the drawings as well as send and receive them over the Internet.
