Highmore Residential Area – Grade Converted from Rural to Urban, New Concrete Curb and Gutter, Asphalt Pavement, Sidewalks, Storm Sewer and Utility Adjustments

SDDOT - COMMUNITY ACCESS GRANT

CLIENT: CITY OF HIGHMORE 

This project was the rehabilitation of a twenty-eight block area of Highmore that included the downtown and industrial park areas.  Much of the area was a rural type section, this was regraded and converted to an urban section with concrete curb and gutter.  The conversion required the design of an extensive storm sewer system with drop inlets and an outfall line.  Different pavement sections were designed for the normal traffic and truck traffic areas. The installation of a storm sewer system required the relocation and upgrade of numerous underground utilities. 

Aaron Swan and Associates did the planning, surveyed, prepared the plans and specifications, and provided the contract administration and construction observation and materials testing.
