CONSTRUCTION OBSERVATION, INSPECTION, MATERIALS TESTING AND FIELD ENGINEERING

 

Aaron Swan And Associates provides Construction Observation, Inspection, Materials Testing and Field Engineering on most of the projects they design.  AS&A also performs these services on a contract basis to other Agencies, Engineers and Architects.  

AS&A personnel have received training from the Corps of Engineers and have been certified to perform construction observation and materials testing on Corps Projects. 

Aaron Swan & Associates Material Testing Laboratory personnel are SDDOT certified as QC/QA technicians at various levels 1 through 4 and ACI at various grades. The ASA Lab is accredited AAP and AMRL. 

AS&A owns and operates a fleet of four mobile bituminous testing labs.  The mobile labs are furnished with state of the art electronic testing equipment that delivers precision results of both cold feed aggregate and asphalt samples.  All of the testing equipment is calibrated at intervals and to tolerances as specified by the AASHTO Accrediation Program for State and Federal Projects.  Company personnel operating the testing equipment have passed a rigorous training programs sponsored by the SDDOT that prepares them to perform these tests accurately and proficiently.  The bituminous mobile labs perform but are not limited to the following cold feed aggregate and asphalt tests: aggregate size distribution (gradations), Atterburg Limits (LL & PL), lightweight pieces, fractured faces, Rice Theoretical Density, and Marshall density determination of cores.
